ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to prepare accounting policies and procedures, ensure the successful implementation of accounting systems, and oversee the planning, implementation, and management of all financial and procurement activities within the company.

Key Performance Areas

• Preparation of Financial Analysis and reporting
• Preparation of Budget/cash flow
• Determination of Working Capital
• Funds management
• Expenditure within the allocated budget
• Timely declaration of tax

Main Accountabilities include:

• Aligned with the global strategy, monitor and control the financial performance of the group.
• Prepare budgets and all periodic financial reporting and submit them to the CFO.
• Develop the company’s financial policies and procedures in line with local regulations and international good practices
• Prepare the financial forecasting, budgeting, and all periodic financial reporting.
• Maintain expenditures within the allocated budget
• Forecast & manage the cash flow of the company
• Timely preparation of internal & external reports and submission to the CFO
• Design finance & procurement procedure & guidelines
• Ensure all reports are prepared following the policy & procedure of the company and other relevant laws of the country
• Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
• Maintain accounting records and controls
• Assess financial risks and analyze current and future business operations to forecast efficient financial projections
• Ensure all procurements are in line with the company’s policy and procedure and procurement guidelines of the government
• Timely reporting of government tax and lease-related payments as per the Ethiopian tax law and regulations
• Follow up loan repayment structure to optimize the company’s liquidity and credit availability
• Propose and update the budgetary model related to each Operation to consolidate the budget of the different Operations/Corporate offices and present them to the CFO for validation
• Ensure the company’s fiscal activity including budgeting and auditing
• Set up the company’s finance IT system
• Manage finance and procurement team
• Working in the Manufacturing Industry is preferable

ABOUT YOU

Senior Accountant expertise, knowledge and technical skills

• At least 7 years of experience, with 4 in a senior-level position
• Thorough understanding of corporate finance concepts
• In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management policies
• Experience in developing financial plans
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Strong leadership and organizational skills

Educational Requirements

• Master’s degree in, Finance or Accounting, business administration
• BA in Accounting and Finance, ACCA certified
